On July 5, 2005 I gained my independence from a lifetime of battling obesity by having Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Surgery. I was miserable at 235 lbs. and knew something had to be done. I had knee problems, asthma, sleep apnea, high cholesterol, and was borderline diabetic. All at the ripe old age of 28!
Dr. Green and Brandi are an amazing team. I have also had a great deal of support from my family and friends and that makes a world of difference. At 120 lbs, now I lead a very active life. I run 3 miles every other day, play soccer twice a week and volleyball. My overall health is amazing! I feel great about myself! My life has completely changed for the better.
My success has inspired my father in-law and sister in-law to also have the surgery. I am proud to report that they are doing very well and on their way to a healthier and longer life. I trust Dr. Green and his staff not only with my life, but with my loved ones lives as well. This surgery has helped me achieve so much more than just the physical appearance I wanted.
My marriage is better and I have more energy for my kids. This surgery is truly a transformation inside and out.
Where do I begin of how gastric bypass has affected me?
I have so much more confidence in myself and I look at life so different. If I see something on a mannequin I can buy it for myself, instead of having to shop at specialty shops for larger women. I have more energy than ever. I also can ride roller coasters. Not to mention my general health has improved.
I feel like I shorted my children because I was so ashamed of myself and because of the way the world might have perceived me. After seven years, my dream of getting the gastric bypass became reality and it was the best thing I could have done for myself. If it had not been for Dr. Green and his staff, I may not be here today.
Thanks to Dr. Green and his staff, my life has changed forever. I truly love them. Thanks for my new outlook, more energy, and new clothes.
Dear Dr. Green,
It has been wonderful having the new body you have given me. It is as though you added time onto my life. I’m able to do things, like riding a bicycle with my grandchildren and enjoy every minute of it. I have had so many good compliments on how I look and the way I feel. It’s just so hard to describe; I just get around and feel so good!
This surgery has totally changed my life in the way that I eat, in the way that I dress, and in the way I feel about myself. I JUST FEEL GOOD.
